What Should I Know About Brother MFC 7840W

Overview:
The Brother MFC-7840W is the perfect printer for small businesses. It possesses the ability to wirelessly connect to the Internet so that every employee in the building can use it from their own PC. This means that there are no longer any wires in the way. It also gives the office a more professional look. The price of this printer is great and its performance surpasses many people’s expectations.
Pros:
With the MFC-7840W, it doesn’t actually matter if you want to scan or print documents in high quality. The default resolution of 600x2400 dpi offers an impressive clarity of the scanned or printed document. It performs just as well when it comes to monochrome images too. You can adjust the resolution thanks to the printer’s interpolated scan feature.  You can get images at 19,200 x 19,200 dpi.
If there ever arises a need for you to copy files, you should know that Brother’s built-in ADF can easily help you with that. Many business users find this function especially useful. You can zoom in or out from 25 all the way to 400 percent. You can even add up to 35 pages in the copy machine. It will scan and print them all at a speed of 23 sheets every minute.
The fax part of this printer has a helpful feature called quick scanning.  This feature allows users to scan documents that are going to be faxed later. You don’t transmit them, you simply store the documents for later use. The automatic document feeder even makes it possible to scan files faster than the transmission speed and send the data normally afterward through the modem. This way, you can use the printer for other jobs while faxing your documents because only the phone line is being used.
If you were worried that you would be waiting a long time to have your fax page sent, then you will be relieved to know that this Brother model does the job in literally 2 seconds because it has a Super G3 33.6 kbps fax modem. The printer also allows you to dial up to 208 locations and broadcast to 258 places.
The color depth of 48 bits delivers high quality images. The device’s scanning capability isn’t limited to monochrome files either. TIFF, BMP, PDF, and  JPEG are some formats supported by Brother MFC-7840W.
Cons:
Brother MFC-7840W was designed more for home use.  That’s not to say that businesses wouldn’t get any use out of it, because they would, but there are many more business-oriented printers out there. The wireless feature is great but the speed of 23 pages per minute can’t satisfy someone with heavy printing needs.  A household where there aren’t many PCs that need to use the printer would be the perfect environment for this model because of its relatively low printing speed.
Besides that, Brother MFC-7840Wlimits you to using only one paper tray of 250 pages and a memory of 32 Mb. It’s true you will most likely not need additional memory capacity, but you couldn’t expand it even if you wanted to because there is no extra slot for memory. It also lacks an additional space for a paper tray, limiting the amount of paper it can hold and use at one time.
